What is Endel?
Endel generates soundscapes meant to support focus, relaxation, sleep and physical activity. Its patented technology adapts the sound in real time to inputs like time of day, weather, heart rate and location, and it is presented as backed by neuroscience research, with a whitepaper published on Bioarxiv.
The service is available as an iOS and Android app, as a standalone Apple Watch app that can use heart rate data, and through Amazon Alexa on Echo devices, Fire Tablets and Fire TV. An Autoplay mode chooses a soundscape for your current state.
A subscription is required to use it, and the company states that subscription revenue funds ongoing updates and development. The site groups its sounds into Relax, Focus, Sleep and Activity modes.
