What is Melies?
Melies is an AI creative studio aimed at filmmakers and other creators who want to go from an idea to a finished film in one place. The site lists 42 focused tools covering writing, storyboarding, casting, image and video generation, editing and sound.
Main tools include an AI image generator, an AI video generator that turns images and text into clips, and a movie poster generator. Users can cast from a library of AI actors or train a custom actor from a single reference photo to keep characters consistent across generations.
The platform draws on many third-party models, such as Flux, Kling, Runway and Luma. Plans are subscription based with monthly credits: Starter, Pro and Max, where higher tiers add custom actors, 4K images, more concurrent generations and a commercial license.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Covers writing, storyboarding, casting, image and video generation, editing and sound.
- Gives access to several third-party AI models, including Flux, Kling, Runway and Luma.
Cons
- Generation runs on monthly credits, so output volume is limited by each plan's allowance.

You can cast from a library of AI actors. You can also train a custom actor from a single reference photo, which the site says helps keep a character consistent across generations. Custom actors are listed as a feature of the higher subscription tiers, so check the plan details on the official website before you commit.
The platform draws on many third-party models, including Flux, Kling, Runway and Luma. Its AI video generator turns images and text into clips, and the image generator covers still visuals. The site also includes a movie poster generator. Check the official website for the current list of models.
According to the site, higher subscription tiers include a commercial license. Whether that license fits your project depends on its terms, so read the license terms on the official Melies website before publishing or selling work made with the platform.
